M-Bar Wind Farm
Penn Energy Trust is the fee owner of the M-Bar Ranch located in the Permian Basin of West Texas. The M-Bar Ranch spans 9000 acres of wind-rich territory and has been honored as a Land Heritage Program property in recognition of its history of agricultural  production for over a century. Penn Energy Trust purchased this significant, historic property for the express purpose of extending its rich heritage into the next century by combining agricultural production with the production of clean wind energy.
Penn Energy Trust has been an advocate for Clean Renewable Energy in the State of Texas and has been an active participant in the Public Utility Commission’s contested case proceedings with the goal of improving the electrical transmission grid in the State of Texas to permit the development of new wind energy projects. In fact, Penn Energy Trust was one of only twelve wind project development companies to nominate a Clean Renewable Energy Zone in the State of Texas. As the process moves towards conclusion, many thousands of megawatts of wind energy will be brought to market to serve the energy demands of millions of Texans - powering their homes, businesses and schools. |
